Alright horse people, listen up!

This Downunder Horsemanship Sweet Iron Snaffle Bit is exactly what Clinton Anderson uses on all his horses, and if it's good enough for him, you know it's quality.

The whole idea behind using a snaffle bit like this is it encourages lateral flexion, which is basically the secret sauce to getting that perfect vertical flexion.

Translation: the softer your horse is from side to side, the softer he'll be when you pick up on both reins.

This particular bit has this genius D- and O-ring combo design that actually WON'T pinch the corners of your horse's mouth like so many other snaffles do.

The mouthpiece is 5 inches long and 3/8-inch thick with 3-inch rings, and it's made of sweet iron - which horses actually like the taste of and it gets them salivating.
More saliva means a softer, more responsive mouth when you're giving rein cues.

You've got three styles to choose from: Smooth for horses that are already light in your hands, Twisted or Square for those leaners (makes leaning uncomfortable), then you can switch back to Smooth once they're responding better.
Just a heads up - these sweet iron bits do rust, so you'll want to keep up with cleaning and oiling them regularly.
But that little bit of maintenance is totally worth it for how well they work.
